I agree that it’s a very dangerous place for homeless people to camp, but I find it difficult to believe that removing all of the vegetation in order to get rid of a couple; literally a couple of unhoused humans. Seems like a poor use of resources.

I'm a little older than Mr. Flewellen, but I knew I was looking at men at an early age as well, about 7-8 years old. But not other boys. I was looking at grown men. Male teachers. The Principal. Never any interest in boys my age or younger. I have and still reject any religious conditioning or association in order to survive in this world.

I understand the implications of resources being out of reach for people trying to make ends meet but nobody wants to open up shop in an area where their employees are put in danger, let alone losing inventory because of robbery. You can’t have anything in north St. Louis and that’s the cold hard truth. The liability is too high. Poverty and social disparities are what creates high crime rates. There is no easy solution to fix societal problems but it starts with the collective mentality within the community. Violence is not the answer. Reach out to your neighbors/community. Don’t do them dirty. That creates a hostile environment that nobody wants to participate in.

These businesses close for reasons that won't be discussed here because that would encompass discourse that challenges the narrative.

I keep forgetting that people don’t have cicadas outside of the Midwest lol. Fun fact!! There is also a regional overlap with this brood with another brood that is on an 18-year cycle. (Cicadas are also what produces the chhhhhh sound at night!) so instead of enough to hear at night there are THOUSANDS at any single house. Thankfully most of them are going away but when they were first molting we had like 50 on our back deck just chilling 😭

One of the "Saints" in our LGBTQIA Community.. Sad to say for some, being gay, doesn't affect their racist thinking.. You'd think being gay might cause some folks to have respect for their fellow LGBTQ folks but it doesn't.

I’m in KC suburb (Kansas) and haven’t seen or heard any yet.

I am paralyzed and bed-bound I would love to go to East St. Louis and learn the lessons which I could be taught there, but it is impossible for me to get there. Is there anyone who would be willing to teach me at a distance? I am an eager pupil.

There are things I really don't like about the United States. Bad race relations and how badly we treat our fellow Americans over minor differences is a big one. We need to teach these things in all our schools, and we need to own it, no matter what race we are. Only then can we amend our sinful ways.

I was only a year old, but I remember it like... Well... I don't remember it at all. I actually do remember a few things from one year old, but the tornado isn't one of them. Where I live now, the tornado siren seems to mean "Go out in the street and gawk."
